the project

"Through the Glass" is structured around three fundamental conceptual axes: the dialectic between the human condition and artificial intelligence; the screen and the lens as ambiguous devices, capable of functioning simultaneously as bridges of connection and as barriers of separation; and the growing awareness of human beings regarding their own predictability as cognitive and emotional entities.

In "Through the Glass" the viewer is confronted with faces of seemingly “human” appearance, presented in repetitive sequences, whose features are either amplified or distorted by randomly placed glass spheres, or entirely obscured beneath transparent glass or plastic sheets. These visages, at times, directly engage the viewer with gazes charged with indifference, bewilderment, or estrangement; at other times, they remain with eyes closed, immersed in a state of introspection or total disconnection from their immediate surroundings.

As facial distortions arise from optical alterations induced by refractive devices, fleeting traces of latent emotions emerge. These expressions, barely suggested, vanish as swiftly as they appear—never fully materializing or repeating—like flashes of an elusive inner world that resists being fully unveiled.
