the project

"SMK" originated as a series of real-time experiments with particle systems and volumetric generators. Initially developed for the visualization of sound structures in audiovisual performances, these systems soon evolved into autonomous pieces. They combine human interaction with random or algorithmic parameters to create living sculptures — organic, hypnotic, and meditative in nature.

The moving forms are shaped primarily by generative particle systems that, through turbulence and collisions, produce trails resembling suspended smoke. These traces linger in virtual space, frozen in time, while the structures slowly rotate on their vertical axis, revealing themselves from every possible angle.

This interplay of motion and rotation creates complex visual effects. Prolonged observation often leads to perceptual ambiguity, as the direction of rotation appears to shift between clockwise and counterclockwise. This sensory disorientation enhances the illusion of observing geometries unbound by physical space, emphasizing their abstract, transient essence.

Each piece is designed to evolve continuously within permanent installations. Powered by real-time generation, they never repeat, instead adapting to environmental variables. Factors such as audience presence, ambient sound, or temperature directly influence the behavior of the particles and the shape of the trails, transforming these digital sculptures into responsive, ever-changing visual organisms.
